The land of goulash and paprika welcomes the consortium of the ‘V.E.G.A. – Visualising European Goals through Arts’ project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, for the international training. Fifteen young people and youth workers gathered in the picturesque city of Budapest for training on European Youth Goals, a key component of the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027. This initiative aims to connect youth across Europe while focusing on 11 specific goals tailored for them. The V.E.G.A. project highlights five of these goals: #2 – Equality for all genders; #6 – Advancing rural youth; #8 – Quality Learning; #9 – Space and Participation for all; and #10 – Sustainable green Europe. The aim is to engage young people with these vital initiatives for their future.
Hosted by the Hungarian partner, Youth Bridges Budapest, the consortium enjoyed an enriching three-day training experience, featuring workshops and activities created by young people for their peers, facilitating a deeper understanding of European policies.
In addition to preparing participants for their future, the training serves as a precursor to on-site workshops scheduled for November and December 2024 in consortium countries (Italy, Spain, Hungary, Germany, and Portugal), where trained youth will become role models for their communities.
